The iPad's popularity as an e-book reader may be rivaled by its potential to transform the magazine and newspaper publishing industries. We run down some of the best iPad reads.

All I can say is that that edition of GQ is going to sell a lot better than the one they launched on the iPad with with a guy on the cover. In fact I think I'll go and buy it now ;-)

P.S. Great writeup David!! One I'd add in to the list is PressReader -- lets you buy newspapers such as Sydney Morning Herald, Daily Telegraph, The Age, Herald Sun, etc for $US0.99 per edition. You get the full printed layout with ads as well -- very cool. The software could be a little improved; it's a tiny bit slow sometimes but perfectly usable. You can get an 'unlimited newspapers' subscription for titles worldwide for about $US30 a month.

I agree Dan, PressReader is an amazing App and imo the best bang for buck app available on the iPad.

A warning to people, some of the magazines can eat through your download quota. For instance the Wired magazine is a 500mb download! That could be anywhere from 10% to 200% of your monthly 3G download quota. Make sure you get it on a wifi connection!
