After years of waiting, iPhoto books, calendars and prints finally arrive in Australia.
After two years of waiting, Australian and New Zealand residents can now officially order Photobooks, calendars, postcards and prints directly from iPhoto. Previously, customers wanting to use the built-in functionality within iPhoto needed to use other third-party solutions or find a friend with a US billing and shipping address.
Pricing is reasonably competitive too, given the convenience of publishing directly from iPhoto. Picture Books start from $39.99, calendars are $26.99, postcards and greeting cards range from $1.99 to $2.69 while individual prints start at 29c. More detailed pricing is available here.
Postage prices also vary depending on the order, but from my initial investigation cards cost $2.49 for up to 9 cards, prints cost $2.99 (jumping to $5.99 when you order a 20x30" print), calendars cost $5.99 and large books cost $7.99 to ship.
To access the new photo printing services customers will need to be running iLife '08 and upgrade iPhoto to version 7.1.2.
