Acer Windows+Android netbook coming in Q3 after all

Acer says it has no intention of postponing its dual-boot netbook and the machine is on track for a Q3 launch.

It seems that the rumors of the Acer Android/Windows netbook's demise have been greatly exaggerated. PC World reports today that Acer has come out and shot down the rumor that I posted yesterday claiming that the Android/Windows netbook would be delayed until next year.

If you recall from the post yesterday, Acer was reportedly delaying the netbook due to lack of interest. Acer today restated its commitment to launch the dual-boot netbook in Q3 of this year, putting the launch right in the original October time frame we expected.

Acer isn’t the only netbook company set to launch an Android-powered netbook onto the market. Asus will reportedly have an Android machine this year. I would expect the Acer netbook to be the more popular given that it runs Windows as well; assuming Acer doesn't price it out of the reach of the users interested in it. There is still no word from Acer on a price for the dual-boot netbook.
