As part of its quarterly earnings report, Dell has confirmed that it will launch AMD-equipped Dimension desktops next month. It also confirmed the launch of its previously-announced AMD two-socket and mutli-socket Opteron servers.
While AMD CEO K.J. Chou leaked news of the AMD desktops last week, the statement is the first official confirmation by Dell of its closer relationship with the chip manufactuter.
A spokesperson for Dell Australia said that generally speaking, "Based on Dell's past track-record", Australian consumers will also be able to buy the new desktops next month.
Although "Dell doesn't take a cookie-cutter approach", launching exactly the same systems in each region, he said, Australians can expect to choose from the same range of models as buyers in the US.
