Dreams of a Blu-ray equipped Mac Mini? Amex Digital can make Blu-ray dreams a reality.
One of the things that many Mac fans have been clamoring for is Blu-ray support on Mac notebooks and computers like the Mini. Sure Apple only recently
updated the Mini, but the company decided to forgo any HD movie love for the cheapest Mac.
If you really want a HTPC that you can cram into your entertainment center, but you prefer Mac over Windows machines a new add on kit gets you one-step closer to Blu-ray capability on the Mac Mini. A Blu-ray upgrade kit is available form a company called
Amex Digital. There are a few caveats to the upgrade kit though. First, it is sure to void your warranty.

Second, Mac OS X lacks native support for Blu-ray payback so you will need to run another OS like Windows on a Boot Camp Partition. If you don’t mind Windows as an alternative OS on your rig, you will be able to watch Blu-ray discs with the upgrade.
The kit costs $199 and is part numberBD-UG1. It lacks Blu-ray authoring capability, but can read all forms of Blu-ray media. It can write DVD and CD media though so you should still be able to author CDs and DVDs using OS X.
