With the launch of iPhone OS 4 expected to be just 12 weeks away, Apple has released a developer preview of the software toolkit needed to write apps for multitasking and more…
Eager to upgrade your iPhone app, to start work on your first app or simply to learn more about mobile app programming?
Apple’s
iPhone Dev Centre now contains a beta copy of the iPhone 4.0 SDK. The preview pack can be downloaded by members of Apple’s iPhone Developer Program, which means it’ll probably hit the BitTorrent circuit before the day is out.
In addition to the new
multitasking features of the OS, the SDK also opens third-party access to the Calendar and Photo Library, composing SMS messages from within apps and document previews.
Developers can also start experimenting with embedded in-app advertisements written around Apple’s iAd mobile advertising platform.
