Apple’s refresh to the entry-level MacBook kicks things up a notch with Nvidia’s GeForce 320M graphics, a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo and a claimed 10 hour battery life – all for $50 less!

The budget-priced MacBook has just become even better value, with the anticipated update delivering a lot more laptop for a little less money.

Apple’s refresh sees the new MacBook packing the same Nvidia GeForce 320M graphics chipset as introduced last month on the 13 inch MacBook Pro, where it delivered a noticeable performance kick.

As expected, the processor has also been slightly spec’d up from the previous 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo to a 2.4GHz chip.

But the real kicker is the battery life, which jumps from seven hours up to a claimed ten hours – mainly due to the increased efficiency of the GeForce 320M and Apple’s tweaking of the chemistry inside the MacBook’s cells.

Apple has also lopped $50 off the price to bring the new MacBook in at $1,249.

The rest of the recipe remains the same: 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and the same white-only polycarbonate unibody shell.
