Archos gets new ultraportable notebook ready for the limelight.

Archos is mostly known for its line of PMPs and MIDs. The company has tried to produce a netbook form factor device before but the devices never really caught on. Back in October, we did get our first glimpse of the Archos 9 tablet running Windows 7. A couple new updates from Archos are incoming next month.

Archos will debut a new notebook form factor device called the Archos Notebook A13PS. The machine will ship in April, use an Intel D510 CPU, and run Windows 7 Home Premium. No hard details are offered on the device, but considering they call it a notebook and not a netbook, my money says the screen is 13-inches judging by the model number.

Archos also outed an update for that sexy Archos 9 PC tablet that I mentioned before. The tablet will get an Atom Z515 CPU upgrade sometime this month. It still sports the same 17mm profile and 9-inch touchscreen we saw back in October. With the iPad landing soon, the Archos 9 is also touting its superior specs like 1080p video, Flash support, camera, and USB port.

Very sleek, though with that colour scheme I'd use candlelight, limelight tends to be a tad harsh.

I don't know about the rest of you but I'd like to nominate ARCHOS for the Lamest Product Naming Award; [sic] Archos will debut a notebook ... and they're calling it the ARCHOS Notebook A13PS.
