Alistair Roe is the winner of the inaugural ASUS Master Challenge. He wins a P7P55D motherboard. APC and ASUS were impressed by the PC he defined around two ASUS components, a Maximus III Gene motherboard, and an ASUS EAH5870 graphics card.

ASUS's Matthew Wu had this to say about Alistair's entry:

"Congratulations to Alistair for creating a perfect gaming machine using the ASUS Republic of Gamers Maximus III GENE mATX motherboard and the ASUS EAH5870 graphics card as a baseline. The combination of the powerful Lynnfield CPU with high-bandwidth memory and very good CPU cooler, will allow the user to achieve a really nice overclock to add to the gaming experience. The monitor is perfect for the high performance that the ASUS EAH5870 delivers and adding another 2 monitors will allow Alistair to experience AMD’s Eyefinity. The power supply and case will provide the performance and space for an extra ASUS EAH5870 added onto the Maximus III GENE in the future if more performance is needed. This is a perfect portable LAN gaming machine that everyone will be envious of. Thank you to all the entrants who participated, I enjoyed reading all your custom builds and well done to Alistair and the other honourable mentions listed who made our Top 10 list below."

Although the judges had to pick one winner, they were impressed by several others. These are the top 10 entries in the competition. All had to use an ASUS motherboard and a graphics card, from those shown below. Click on the names to view their entries.
