Battery in non-unibody MacBook explodes

Battery in man's MacBook explodes, thankfully his gonads are safe.

Over the last few years, there has been no shortage of exploding batteries in our gadgets and computers. A few years ago, there were massive battery recalls after batteries used in several major computer manufactures laptops were exploding and causing fires.

For the most part the phenomenon of the exploding battery has been limited to Windows computers. However, the MacBook isn't without its own battery woes. Engadget is reporting that a non-unibody 17-inch MacBook Pro has its battery catastrophe.

The user was reportedly using the notebook on a desktop when a weird noise quickly grew louder just before the notebook "jumped up" slightly and then turned off. Closer inspection revealed that the battery had apparently overheated and exploded. I shudder to think of what the bloke's gonads would have gone through had the MacBook actually been in his lap.

Ummmm ... err... PAIN!

but, if it had been on your lap, you would have noticed it overheating and taken it off; I doubt it overheated instantly.

Uh, the recall covered many brands who had used dud Sony LiIon battery cells, and probably hit Windows based PCs more simply due to volume... But the actual explosions I've heard of have almost all been Apple laptops.

Actually "Raindog" I've heard it said that a person's got to have mucho large gonads to actually be seen operating a "Macbook" in public.

Well, it's more or less what those would have been like if the US had asked China to make the bombs for them ;-)

The headline could perhaps have been "Macbook remains under powered even in self destruction"? :>
