Check out the latest and greatest in apps for your iPhone with our monthly app roundup.

Zombies, Run!

You literally have to run away from this horde.

A combination running app and zombie apocalypse survival game, Zombies, Run! May just provide you with the motivation you need to get out of the house and shake off the winter 'blanket' that you developed these last few months.

Zombies Run iOS app

As a 'runner' in the Abel township -- one of the few remaining oases of humanity left after the zombie apocalypse -- you're one of the lucky few that are sent outside to find supplies, news or to scare away invading hordes.

The storyline, while interesting, isn't the novel part of this game. What really sets it apart is the execution: you play the game by running. Actually running. You plug in your headphones, listen to the mission briefing and then get running. Commands will occasionally bark from the radio, letting you know when you've collected various items or warning you of an incoming zombie mob (meaning you have to run faster), but for most of it, you get to listen to your own playlist.

When you return back to Abel, the items you collected on your run can be used to upgrade the township and unlock additional missions. Gamifying exercise is a great way to make running a little more addictive and for that alone, I have to give these guys props.

Unstoppable Fist

Another month, another retro game, right? Unstoppable Fist is a sort of rhythm game, rendered in 16-bit, where you play an alien demigod with brutish good looks and a pest problem.

Unstoppable Fist iOS app

You must tap the screen in one of six zones, each corresponding to a high, medium or low attack on the left or right of the screen. You need to tap these at the right moment to punch/kick the offending chicken/fish/zombie head. Cool graphics, with a kickin' soundtrack available for free from unstoppablefist.bandcamp.com.

Chrome

Chrome on iOS is every bit as wonderful as Chrome on the desktop.

The Omnibox (the best thing on the internet since lolcats) is so intuitive that you'll wonder why it's really the only browser that offers it. Better yet, sign into your Google account to access all your desktop bookmarks, passwords, history and even the tabs currently open on your desktop. It also includes Incognito mode for all those times… well, you know.
