Canon unveils EOS 7D DSLR: packed with firsts

Canon offers up new EOS 7D camera with some very nice features at a decent price for a high-end camera.
We haven't seen a new DSLR camera out of Canon since March when the company launched the
EOS 500D. Today Canon has unveiled a new DSLR camera called the
EOS 7D and the camera is jammed with firsts for the EOS line. The 7D has an 18-megapixel sensor and can shoot continuous bursts at up to eight frames per second.
The 7D also has an ISO range of up to ISO 12,800 and can record full 720p HD video at 24 fps. The camera has dual Canon DIGIC 4 processors for superior speed and image quality. Canon says that the new DSLR is compatible with all EF and EF-S lenses as well as Canon EX Speedlites. The 7D features a built-in wireless controller for Speedlites.

Other features of the camera include a 19-point auto focus system and iFCL metering with 63-zone dual-layer sensor. The viewfinder offers 100% coverage and a 1x magnification, a first for an EOS DSLR. The rear LCD of the camera is a 3-inch unit with 920K dots and the LCD is designed to minimize glare. Another first for the EOS range is an integrated level system to help photographers line up shots. The EOS 7D will sell in Europe for €1649 for the body only and when combined with a kit 28-135mmlens it will sell for €1899.
