Computex: AMD and Intel in a war of words

COMPUTEX 2007 |Innocent AMD staffers assaulted by the towering Intel quad-core robot...

The royal rumble set to start between the Green and the Blue teams has begun with a bang.

Awed AMD staffers labelled "temp" that were innocently handing out green showbags were assaulted by a giant, quad cored Intel robot.

It's merely a prelude to the real action - Intel and AMD both have launches scheduled for the same time - but here's the scoop. Intel is announcing its Core 2 Extreme Mobile (Centrino Extreme anyone?) and AMD? Well, here's hoping we get more juice on the Phenom processor, successor to the Athlon. More on that tonight.

Bite my shiny metal ass: the bloodshed was horrible... Bite my shiny metal ass: the bloodshed was horrible...

Yeah Go Intel! Now that's my kind of processor manufacturer!

Now I'm just waiting on AMD's robot version for a full-fledged "robot war". I hope AMD can see the humour in this...

Caged Rage:

Intel are the leaders of the CPU industry - the 'Core 2' series are the best CPU release intel have ever done.

Kudos Intel, Kudos.

I want a Intel Robot! :)

Yeah it only took Intel 5 years to outperform AMD and at a 50% higher cost for 20% better performance. I'll stick with the reliable performers- AMD and nVidia. I'd rather have AMD making low-cost processors than wasting money making a retarded robot.
