Dell adds 7 inch and 10 inch Android ‘Streak’ slates to the menu

Dell clearly expects big things of the tablet market, with spy shots revealing two larger-screen siblings set to follow the Android-powered Streak 5.

You have to hand it to Dell – they’re rarely first in any market, but when they do arrive they usually land with a vengeance.

That could once again be the case with the Streak family of Android slates. We’d already seen an tantalising tease of the Filofax-sized Streak 5 (the badged as the Mini 5) at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Now Engadget has ferreted out images of what’s said to be two big brothers for the littlest Streak.

With 7 inch and 10 inch screens, the Streak 7 and Streak 10 look perfectly positioned to give Dell a stake in each key segment of the tablet space.

Rumoured release dates are July for the Streak 5, end of year for the Streak 7 and early next year for the Streak 10 – but don’t expect Dell to sit on its hands and stick to that schedule if the slate market takes off like a rocket.

Doh... Why did they call them different numbers to the screen size? Would have been far simpler if they had a Streak 7 and Streak 10.

Err, they don't, Tin - the Streak 5 has a five inch screen, the Streak 7 is the one with the seven inch screen, and the Streak 10 - well, I'll let you guess that one. :P

Oh... Yes. So they did (or didn't). I misread it somehow... That's what I get for reading APC at work :P
