Dell lets Inspiron 13z loose in Australia with claims of loooong battery life.

Dell has been content to tease us of late with shots of the sexy Dell Adamo XPS machine that we finally got the details on only recently. With the launch of Windows 7, Dell has marked the occasion with the launch of a small new notebook called the Inspiron 13z, which it is marketing as a "long lasting laptop" -- meaning long battery-life .

The little laptop sports a 13.3-inch screen with a HD resolution of 1366 x 768. The screen is LED backlit for better energy savings, to eke out more life from the standard 4-cell battery (promising five hours of run time) or an optional 8-cell battery with 11 hours of runtime.

Storage is offered in several capacities starting at 160GB for base models and going up to 500GB on the high-end of the range. The machine comes stock with 2GB of RAM and can be optioned with up to 4GB of RAM.

CPU options start out with the modest Intel Pentium dual-core SU4100 and go up to the more powerful Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400. The 13z runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and uses the Intel GS45 chipset.

Standard graphics for the machine are via Intel GMA X4500MHD with an optional NVIDIA GeForce G105M discreet chip. Bluetooth is optional and Wi-Fi is built-in.

The notebook measures 340mm W x 20.8mm to 32.3mm H x 242.5mm D and weighs 1.79kg. and is selling for $1,199.
