Can’t wait for Dell to decide if it will release the Android-powered Streak slate here? Aussie online store Mobicity is now taking orders for UK-sourced Streaks at $899...

Dell has yet to make a call on a local launch for the Streak smartphone-tablet, but online store Mobicity hopes to sate Aussie demand for the mini-slate by sourcing them directly from the UK and selling them for $899.

Mobicity – an Australia company which specialises in ‘parallel importing’ of unlocked and unreleased mobile phones and smartphones – says stocks are expected to arrive within the next two weeks with local deliveries around mid-July.

The imported Streaks will be unlocked and run on the 2100MHz and 900MHz 3G bands – making them fine for Optus and VHA but ruling out use on Telstra’s 850MHz Next G network.
