Dell makes 13-inch Inspiron better looking, thinner, and more powerful.

Dell has announced a newly updated Inspiron 13 notebook. The updated notebook page first appeared on the Dell Singapore website and offers a new design and some new specifications.

The old line of Inspiron notebooks were not that visually appealing to most of us with plain and rather boxy lines. The new machines lose a bit of weight and get a more svelte profile. The rig also gets some of the design love that Dell has spread thickly on the Inspiron Mini and Studio notebook lines.

Perhaps the best news is that the new Inspiron gets new hardware inside as well. The base rig sports a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU with graphics by ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330 GPU. Other features of the machine include a 13-inch LED backlit LCD with a resolution of 1366 x 768, HDMI out, and an ExpressCard 34mm slot. The cost in Singapore is $1,399. Official pricing for other parts of the world hasn’t been announced, but it would be a big surprise for Dell to not update this workhorse model globally.
