Dell Z series notebook has a thin Adamo-like profile and had better not have an Adamo-like price.
When I first saw the
Dell Adamo, I thought it was a sexy little notebook. Sure, it was a nice looking machine, but aside from the looks, it really didn't have much to offer and its looks alone hardly justified the price of the beast for the vast majority of users.
I wondered why Dell didn’t just use a thin profile on a notebook that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Evidentially the product manager in charge of the Adamo forgot we are in the midst of a global recession. A new
Dell Latitude Z series has been leaked online and for a change the spy shots are actually clear and you can see detail.

The clear images are a good thing in this case considering the leaker failed to give us any indication of the specs of the machine. After all, if you have time to line up multiple clear spy shots, surely you could have gleaned some specs for us.
The clear images do give some hint about what's inside the Adamo-like Z series. The machine will run on the Intel Centrino platform, meaning a Core 2 Duo CPU most likely. Other rumors have the rig coming with a 15-inch matte LCD, webcam with facial recognition, and a DisplayPort. The release of the machine is said to be set for a week from today. This is probably the CULV rig we have been expecting form Dell, and it dang had well better come in at an affordable price unlike the Adamo.
