APC June 09: DVR roundup

DanWarneAPC Regular user 32 posts Posted: 19/05/2009 10:05 AM	This month we ran a few of the latest DVRs through their paces to find that, unlike the past-generation VCRs, it’s not rocket science. What do you think of DVRs? Are they a must have item or will your old disc player be around for a few more movies yet?

Sp33d d3mon Give Vista a Fist-a Cornerstone member 112 posts Posted: 02/06/2009 1:06 PM	I can't be stuffed with DVR's, too expensive and too useless. Sure it's easy, but I record TV on my PC (using FusionHDTV card) and stream it over the network to my Xbox 360, which through HDMI will upscale my recordings to 1080p, which looks quite better than standard DTV on my 106cm plasma.

NetR@nger CEO Home Computer Systems(HCS) Cornerstone member 50 posts Posted: 08/07/2009 7:07 AM	Hi Dan,best piece of tech ever made,simply could not function TV wise without it.Since me and my wife both work 10 hours + per day,being able to record shows and program our top shelf DVR is a must.I wish there was a way to auto edit the ads((I HATE ADS WITH A PASSION)).
