G'day All.

At the moment, I currently have my notebook connected to my television via a VGA cable and a standard 3.5ml audio cable - and this works fine, I'm happy with it.

However, I'm currently building a new PC, and the area of home theater isn't exactly my forte. So, out of curiosity, I was wondering what would be the best connectionn in regards to displaying my PC through an HD LCD television. I would be looking to , for example, display HD content and play surround sound audio.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers guys.

I'm no expert, but a HDMI connection will carry HD audio and HD video in one cable, so that should be your best option.
I don't know of any details though.

Somebody else will give you a better explanation, but there are also some other reasons to do with DRM that make HDMI the best choice for HD. It is something to do with both devices (TV and computer) being DRM compliant and it also requires that the signal be sent through an HDMI cable. If both devices are not DRM complaint and if some other type of cable is used, then you cannot get true HD.

I'll leave it to other to provide a better explanation.

At least the failure to grasp even basic English gives plenty of warnings.

Just a quick reminder folks to never click on links with an unknown origin.
