As most of us by now have been using the Release Candidate version of win7
when the 'full version' comes out will there be an upgrade choice so we dont have to reinstall everything again (with the RC version i have had to re-install office, nero, adobe acrobat so far havent checked a lot of my other apps yet)
if we have to re-install everything once win 7 comes out it may stop some people from buying it.
i cant remember if microsoft had this option for any of the earler versions of windows

I believe there will be an option, but not what you're looking for.
Some things to consider are:
1) The RC is for Windows 7 Ultimate, so you may only be able to upgrade to Ultimate ($$$) 2) Upgrades are never as clean as fresh installs. This applies to any OS in my experience. 3) I don't believe any settings or info actually remain installed, though they sit in a "Windows.old" folder.
Here are a few references I found searching Google. http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2009/08/upgrade-windows-7-rc-to-the-final-rtm-release/ http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/14/microsoft-confirms-windows-7-rc-upgrade-rules/

cool thanks
i went to the first link and it showed me how to change some settings so that the win7 RTM will upgrade over the RC but still keep my installed programs such as office and nero
If it means that i have to get ultimate then i guess i have to i just hope that M$ drops the price a little bit more (dont know if i can afford $400+ on my wages)

Can't register the Windows 7 RC supplied on the September coverdisk. Microsoft's web site won't supply a key.

its true, upgrading to win7 requires to reinstall everything again unlike windows xp only the OS is going to replace only depends to the owner if wants to change everything, see essays from some professional technicians.
