i have a 320GB protable HDD ("2.5) and i am detirmend to get it into my ASUS EEE pc (its a "7)
and install windows 7 on it.
it currently has a SSD chip in it.
does anyone have any ideas on how i can rip the SSD out a whack the HDD in?
btw it does support USB booting, and i will use deamon tools to install win7 (yes this does work! i have done it before)

Isn't 8gb enough??? lolz
you should be able to just swap the two drives.
but if you haven't pulled laptops apart, be very careful. Netbooks, particularly, are reaaaaly annoying to put back together.
I've even heard of people taking photos with a digital camera as the disassemble it so they can remember how to reassemble it.
but I'm always too impatient for that.

oh, and if you have another pc handy, you can use the WIN7 disc to create a USB installer, on pretty much any USB drive big enough.
Or, you could stick the 320 in a desktop, yes, they fit, and do the install on that, up to the first reboot. Then stick it in the EEE and finish the install.

that is if the EE can do it. is it an atom?
