We often watch ABC's iView on my laptop (HP Pavilion Entertainment PC) over the internet (ADSL2+ connection), but I want to send iView to our lounge room TV (Sharp Aquos LCD - no HDMI, only DVI or composite). I have a wireles network in the room next door (2 metres away). Is there an easy (and cheap) way to send ABC's iView from my laptop to the TV - preferably via wireless, but if I really have to, I'd put in an Ethernet cable. I don't use my network for any other media playback, Youtube, etc. Thanks

I'm interested in any suggestions you get.
This isn't what you want, but could be worth trying in your investigation:
If you access the internet via your wireless router, and if you have a media output port of some kind on your laptop, you could connect your modem to the laptop via the wireless network, connect the laptop to the TV via the the media output and simply output video to the TV.
What you probably want is some kind of simple media centre with wireless.
Any suggestions?

There's no easy/cheap way to do what you're suggesting without getting new hardware. Your options:
A BOX CONNECTED TO THE TV THAT ACCESSES IVIEW DIRECTLY:
- the Playstation3 can play iView - approx cost $499
- get an Apple TV and hack it to support Flash - approx cost $329 - http://forums.mactalk.com.au/28/70760-abc-iview-your-appletv-instructions.html
- use any device that runs XBMC or Boxee (such as D-Link's upcoming Boxee Box) http://www.andybotting.com/wordpress/using-abcs-iview-on-xbmc
STREAMING FROM YOUR PC USING DLNA
- If you have a TV that can stream video using the DLNA networking standard, you can use this software on your PC to stream iView in DLNA protocol: http://blogs.gnome.org/jamesh/2009/07/06/watching-iview-with-rygel/
(The XBOX360 is a DLNA receiver if you don't have a DLNA capable TV -- approx cost $450)
WIRELESS HDMI SENDERS
- Use the forthcoming Asus BR-HD3 Wireless HDMI Kit to send the video from your laptop to the TV -- I note you say your TV doesn't have HDMI, so you'd have to use an HDMI-DVI converter on your TV (easy though -- the converters are pretty cheap). The bad news is the ASUS unit is $699.

Oh, I forgot to mention this new Intel wireless video technology, which will soon be available in a Netgear product:
http://www.techchee.com/2010/01/04/netgear-push-2-tv-wireless-video-adapter-intel-wireless-display-technology/
Not quite sure whether existing laptops will support it or whether you have to have certain Intel chips in the laptop (will investigate further)

There is another iView solution. Take a look at http://bbs.himedia.com.au/index.php?topic=401.0
