My Telstra NextG Bigpond 7.2 Home Network Gateway recently died. A replacement was sent and it turned out to be a BigPond Elite Mobile Broadband Network Gateway.(what a mouthful).
Unfortunately, it went to God after 30 seconds of powered up time.
Another was sent and it has managed to stay operative.

What I have noticed though is that it appears to be rather "deaf" compared with the original device. I am finding it hard to find a good reception spot within the house. My NextG mobile phone shows max signal but this thing shows "low"

Has anyone had any experiences with these beasts? Given my luck I may have been lumbered with another crook one.
Perhaps I have to fit an outdoor antenna.

Cheers
