Hello everyone :D
Me and my mate are going to start building the same system and so far we have chosen a list of parts. I would just like to know your opinion on the setup and need to know if everything will work together when I build the system. I did make sure myself, but I would like the pros to give point something out if I have made a mistake.

OK, for starters, if you buy these parts from amazon, and get them from the US, you will not get any warrenty, so if you do get a part that is Faulty, good luck with that.

Go back, pick a reputable retailer near your location, and try again.

(that parts list you have above looks fine, but parts available in the US aren't always the same as parts available in OZ)

Thanks for the reply ss-rotel. Unfortunately buying online is the only way that my friend can get some of these parts due to his location... The main thing that was concerning us was the compatibility and quality of the parts, and now that you have cleared that up we can start looking around for a deal.
Much appreciated,

fair enough.

well.. the one thing you want to try and get as local as you can is the case.

They are in big boxes, so postal company will change you by Volume, (Cubic area), not the actual weight, so it will be the biggest postage expence. IF you can use a case you already have, do so :)

I've found the postage for Melbourne to Brisbane from PCCG to be resonable, single box of stuff was about $15, arrived air freight 1-2 days after payment confirmation.

their site will work out freight for you on ordering on the site, but before you make a payment, so you'll get an idea.

hope this helps

Hey Im Not Liam,

I had my whole build shipped from PCCG including 3 24" screens, case, the whole lot and wasn't bad at all if you were getting a case alone it wouldn't make sense however its not so bad of a price with a whole build :)

PCCG are gold and the guys are willing to help in anyway also they are great if you need to return item for warranty as the site saves all your invoices in the account you make :) So for a return you go through invoice choose the part and then post it and your done. Alot of places could learn from them.

Chris.

PS: Get an SSD in the build if you can its definitely worth it.

Considering you can get a 60gb SSD for about the same price as a 1tb HDD now adays, (since the price of HDD's are offically POOH ATM), yes, yes you could.

And if this system is JUST a gaming rig, you'd be able to install windows 7, and maybe SWTOR, and ... well.. not much else.

(actually, i lie, SWTOR requires something like 40gb, so it probably wont fit after you've installed and updated win7)

Which screens? i now run 3x 23inch LG IPS235's, and as screens go, that are awesome, (the panels are, the base that it ships with on the other hand... all 3 panels lean slightly to the left)

Looking like a good system so far, but may i suggest a few improvements and the opportunity to buy locally and support your fellow Australians?
first of all, great case, but it is in america. the shipping weight will be around 10kgs, which will end up being alot, and since the free shipping is not available to us aussies, thats a lot just in shipping. may i offer something sleek and sexy looking? not to mention cheaper and local?
its the xigmatek asgard II, a good, high quality case, with a sleek look and a nice "X" shaped viewport
Link: http://covetech.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_31&products_id=52
that case is $61

your cpu can be bought in aus, its a few dollars dearer, but your supporting your country and avoiding outrageous shipping costs
link: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=187_345&products_id=18658
that ones $229

your mobo. i honestly wouldn't recommend asrock, i had one once, it ended up getting very unstable and blowing up. i wouldn't recommend msi either, they blow up pretty quick. instead, you do have many australian options that would help, there are many site you can find one, but because of the range i cant think of one to recommend. brand wise, definatly go for an asus, gigabyte or evga. i would by far recommend evga, they are a very high quality board. or me or contact me on 0431302356 to score a sweet deal with that

with the ram, this website:
http://covetech.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_18_20&products_id=19
has some high quality Team RAM. same specs, but lower voltage! it also comes with the heat spreader to keep your RAM operating nice and cool. $29.90 per 4gb stick, contact me to haggle the price :D

the HDD!
it looks like your building a performance machine? why put a sluggish big mechanical hdd in there when you can have a nice fast SSD! some great deals on those here:
http://covetech.com.au/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=4_35
or contact me and i can get you a 1tb WD caviar blue for $135. you speed machine you :)...

with the Blu ray drive, ive got them for $99. remember, when you buy in aus, you pay less shipping!
link: http://covetech.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=14_49&products_id=40

with the power supplies, ive had a look through my suppliers, they dont seem to have too much at the moment, but im pretty sure you will find a better deal in aus.

and last but not least, the part ive been waiting for!!!........

The graphics card!!!!
Good choice in card mate! bad choice in location..

if your looking for the latest 7970, ive got those from $844
or the 6970 as you originally intended for $445. again, you contact me to haggle the price. but you will need to contact me to order that one.

so again, my phone is 0431302356 or pm me to talk about some of your local options.

also remember, buying within australia is supporting your country, and saving you money on shipping.

aside from my recommendations, very good setup sir.

please excuse my poor handwriting and stuff, ive had a couple on my late lonely night in, and im tired. lol

Hey guys thanks for all your help so far. It seems to me buying in america is the cheapest option.

I just have a couple of questions. If I get the AZZA PSAZ-850B14 Dynamo 850W Power Supply will it work with an AMD Radeon 7950? I checked and it seems the AZZA PSU should work. Though will this 7950 rock up as much performance as the 6970 I chose?

AZZA PSU: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KCNYXG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

7950 GPU: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0070APVQ6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
