I Have a Moebius Pc with intel D945GCZL mobo and radeon X700Se graphics which I shut down and turn power off at the wall. When I want to restart if I press power on as soon as turn on the power at the wall, it makes a noise sort of like a chunk and lights on pc and kb flash. But if I wait about a minute before pressing power on all is good. Any ideas anyone

The motherboard or powerbox could be damaged, one of my old Pentium III computers has to be turned on twice before it works, and I'd say you have a similar problem, I'd say don't worry about it too much cause reparing it will be a very costly exercise.

Hi BJ,

I have seen this issue a few times before.

My suggestion is to get a replace the old Power Supply with a new Power Supply of at least 500 watts (as recommended by intel, in the D945GCZ Technical Specification document).

I am quite sure this will solve the issue of the not starting right off, most cases tend to come with a 300w or maybe 450watt power supply and are not realy up to the task of running a lot of the boards and the graphics card.

One has to ask has this been an issue all along ?
Did you use the onboard graphics at first ?

If so the problem will be the Power Supply.

Cheers Eddie

Hi Eddie,
Thanks for the advice.
To answer your questions, the Pc is about 3 yrs old and has never used the onboard graphics.
It only began doing this a couple of months ago.

Regards BJ
