Hey people...
I am a total old school film camera buff and finally moving over to the digital dark side. Can someone recommend a good crash course in digital photography? I have found a bunch of photography courses online, but can anyone point me in the right direction?

Essentially shooting in Digital is pretty similar to shooting with Film. There are subtle differences depending if your DSLR is a full-frame model or one with a crop-factor (commonly 1.3x, 1.5x and 1.6x).
Whenever I need some sort of help - the internet is a great place. You probably already know the basics already - I tend to search for more specific terms rather than general "basics" which usually yields me some more quality info.
Nonetheless, you might want to try Digital SLR Photography Guide which pretty much has the basics covered. Photozone.de which is a site I frequent often. Has many many lens tests/reviews and some tips as well. Ken Rockwell's Site always has some interesting techniques and tips - I really like some of his photography even though sometimes the colour really is dialled up to 11 Some more photography tips from picturecorrect My favourite page for Macro photography The Digital Picture which is a great source for reviews as well. Bob Atkin's Site is also a great resource to learn about stuff you need to know to take care of your DSLR stuff and take good photos.
You might see that some of the sites are quite specific. Do a little searching if you're unsure about a particular thing (e.g. Aperture Priority etc) rather than trying to find something that covers all bases. These are the most popular sites that I have used - having myself gotten into digital photography with an SLR recently (I use a Canon 400D).
You could always try asking around on forums such as this one on photodo. or fredmiranda but this one's more into technical aspects. There's also a forum at bobatkins and one at dpreview which is more for equipment.
I wish you find this useful, and start taking some good shots ;)

the only thing i can point out that you may find with moving from film SLR and going to DSLR, is that cheaper DSLR cameras, (and this is something that is alot more promenant in older DSLR's and cheaper Point and shoot cams), is the images tend to be a little blue or cold
i run a UV filter on my lens, to help combat that a little, but usually, if you open it up in, say, Photoshop, and add a little magenta, you'll fix the colouring
Also, most DSLR's run the same len's as the film couterparts, and you will also find alot of fixed focal lenth non-AF lens on Ebay real cheap, that will just require an adaptor to make them work (as they have no electronics, you will need to run them in Apature priority or full manual mode to get them to work properly)
That said, I have a Canon 350D, and i found that that above this ISN'T the worlds greatest idea. the adaptor pushes the ratio from 1.6 to 2 and ups the f-stop up to a full point.
nikon's dont seem to have this problem. (but i like canon gear better, personally)
Also, i bought a cool little "toy" lens on ebay for like $20, (landed), it's 50mm, 8 f-stop plastic lens that takes some funky pix :)
(sorry a little off topic there)
