155 dollars for nothing?

I have been ripped of by Dodo. Three months ago, I signed up for their so-called unlimited broadband Internet and since then I have never had any Internet service from Dodo. They took my bank card detail and took my 45 dollars for the broadband service and never gave me that service. I was so angry and rang Dodo more than 20 times and all I got was some ridiculous advice from Indian tech people. They kept telling me that my modem was not working or I entered the wrong password and treated me like a complete idiot. I changed my ISP to Bigpond and now Dodo wants me to pay another 110 dolars to them for the broadband service I have never got from them! There is no difference between Dodo and burglars. Of course, there was nothing wrong with my modem and I always enter the correct password. Can anyone tell me what I should do now?

bizzy New user 4 posts Posted: 16/11/2008 9:11 PM	I have always wondered why a company would call itself Dodo. Maybe because it wants to attract the dodo type of customers - interesting isn't it. Yes, threaten to sue them in the Small Claims Tribunal for wasting your time in dealing with this breach of Consumer Affairs.

We used to have a 1.5mb unlimited download connection with no shapings supplied by Dodo. We were paying a good rate and were happy with it. After a year or 2, at almost exactly (and i mean within a few seconds) close to 6:00 PM we would be shaped to around 10kb/s or less. They put mega blocks on our connection from 6:00 PM to about 9:00 pm... after that it was fine. They'd do this every single day and 6 PM just happens to be about peak hour for internet usage. Whenever we contacted dodo they always talked of having server issues and were working on fixing it, and that if we wanted it fixed we should change plans. This of course was what they wanted us to do, change plans, pay a higher rate. We couldn't find any well known ISP providing unlimited downloads with a good speed for a reasonable price. We put up with it for a few weeks but eventually decided it was enough. We contacted Dodo many times and each time they made up some lame excuse. Dodo has lost my support and i'll never recommend them to anyone, ever again...

Yes......of course you have...it's Dodo.....take a look at the following website...it documents a recent (2008) Australian survey of Australian ISP's and what people think of them.....just look at where Dodo really stands..... Hmm.....it doesn't have Dodo......isn't that interesting? Go an see what other ISP you can use (I'd go with either Internode or Westnet/iiNet http://whirlpool.net.au/survey/2008/

gankul User 47 posts Posted: 21/08/2009 4:08 PM	if you go tpg like i did you may find your lucky like i am. im on 30 gig peak/25 offpeak, but when i get capped, it wont register until i restart my modem or the connection gets severd. for 2 months i have downloaded over 90 gigs peak with no cap put in place. but im not relying on it happening all the time, just when i t does i figure i get as much as possible. :)
