Fujitsu UH900 user manual causes confusion

Is the UH900 user manual a simple editing mistake or sign of a new form factor to come?

Fujitsu is no stranger to convertible notebooks. It unveiled what it claimed to be the smallest convertible notebook in the world in January of 2009 called the U2010. Fujitsu has unveiled a new and similarly Lilliputian new notebook called the UH900 that was first spied at CES earlier this month.

The machine ditches the convertible style that previous UMPCs from Fujitsu sported unabashedly -- or does it? The user guide has raised a bit of confusion on exactly what form factor the little computer uses. The machine seen at CES didn't have a swiveling convertible screen.

However, the user guide has a snippet that tells you how to rotate the screen for tablet mode without hurting the little keyboard. The suspect section is titled "Using the System as a Tablet." I figure that Fujitsu cut some corers and used the same manual for the new machine and some of the older UMPCs that were convertible units. Someone along the way missed that section in the editing process. On the other hand, it could mean that a convertible tablet style version of the UH900 is coming soon.
