get freebie clothes standfirst.
You've arrived on the Second Life mainland. But you are still underequipped for life in the big smoke. Your clothes are those of a noob and you don't yet have any Linden dollars to take into a store and buy new gear. But there are lots of freebie stores that will help you start the slow transformation into a Second Life sophisticate. One of the is Freebie Island.
In the Search form, type "freebie,", or because we want to go to a specific place, "Freebie Island."
The search results give you an idea of freebies available in Second Life.
Jeb clicks on Freebie Island, at the top of the search returns.
He is teleported to Freebie Island's landing point.
On Freebie Island Jeb can can buy clothes and accessories to replace the ones that his avatar was originally issued with. Already, he's eyeing off new hair, pants and even business suits.
You can buy anything, including a new skin! New skins have better colouring and definition than the standard-issue noob skin. Doesn't hurt to pick some new skins. They get dropped in your Inventory box and you don't need to use them if you don't want to.
Right click on the advertisement, select Buy, and you get the package contents box. In this case, Jeb not only gets the skin, but also the body shape and bue eyes. Note the cost, L$0.
If you "Buy it" you will notice that your purchase is automatically listed in your Inventory box. Jeb can put that skin on later.
More skins and bodies. Looks are for sale in Second Life!
Clothes are the big drawcard on Freebie Island. Big brands such as Nike have gear for visitors. In this case, clicking on the Nike ad gets Jeb a package with four t-shirts.
Nike also offers shoes.
Jeb is considering a Nokia phone. It will have the annoying Nokia ring.
New jeans to replace Jeb's standard issue jeans won't hurt either.
Gotta have one of those suits for formal occasions.
Aviator sunglasses are a must for their cool factor. Jeb wil soon leave his noob looks behind. Or at least, he won't look like he's just landed from Orientation Island.
Skins and hair for the girls.
Jeb likes that hot t-shirt there on the right.
Hairstyles.
May as well add another cottage to our Inventory.
