Four extensions, Greasemonkey scripts and bookmarklets offer Firefox users clever ways to work faster and smarter with Gmail.

dragdropupload 1.5.11 is an extension that allows you to drag a file onto the “Attach a file” link in Gmail Compose window to attach it. This is much simpler and quicker than the default action of browsing for the file..

After installation, customise the toolbar to include the dragdropupload icon. Clicking it opens a sidebar file browser from which you can drag the file you want to attach.

Gmail Manager 0.4.3.6 offers an easy way to manage multiple Gmail accounts. Like dragdropupload it is accessed from an icon in the toolbar and tracks each accounts unread messages, saved drafts, spam messages, labels with new mail, space used, and new mail snippets. The extension’s preferences allows you to have different compose settings, different toolbar configurations and different polling intervals for each account.

Gmail label colors is a script for Greasemonkey that adds colours to your Gmail labels, making it easier to find them quickly with a visual scan. This brings the visual organisation of Apple Mail’s message list colouring to Gmail.

Two bookmarklets, one for Gmail and one for GCal, offer clean, web app-only interfaces, free of the distractions that a full browser window can contain and that constantly tempt you away from focussing on your work. Just Command-click on them and select “Save as bookmark…” to install them.

I think my favourite feature in Gmail is the search - it's brilliant. Although the amount of storage space you get is also good.

I've also downloaded a desktop alert tool - It's a very nice feature. Pops up everytime I get an email.

Weren't they going to bring out a tool that allowed you to use Gmail like a local drive and store your data up there?
