Google looking to sell branded netbook running Chrome

Chrome netbook expected by Christmas 2010.
It hasn’t been too long since Google's new
Chrome OS was set free to run amuck on the netbook market. We already know that Google is working with major netbook makers like Acer, Asus, HP, Lenovo and more to get machines packing Chrome onto the market as soon as possible. Rumors are coming in now that Google is eying selling its own Chrome-powered netbook with the Google brand.
TechCrunch reports that multiple sources are telling it that Google is talking with at least one netbook maker about building a machine for Google to sell directly. There is no word on what company Google is talking to at this point.
The same sources report that Google has already given the netbook maker a RFP with detailed technical specifications and has begun talks on building the netbook. The target seems to be the holiday season 2010. Google has a history of running against the grain, I wonder if the netbook will use an Atom processor or if Google will go with something else entirely like the NVIDIA Tegra chip. I hope it's something else entirely; it's time for more variety in the netbook market and less of the same old same old.
