The guy that broke DVD encryption, then Apple's Fairplay DRM, has done it again -- this time breaking into Apple's reality distortion field.
DVD Jon, whose formal name is Jon Lech Johansen, co-founder of doubleTwist, is back, originally he was able to crack the Apple music store files encryption code.
Now, however, he has pulled off an even greater feat. DVD Jon purchased a billboard practically inside the Apple location in San Francisco to advertise his “cure for iPhone envy.”

DVD Jon’s cure for iPhone envy is a program which allows iTunes users sync to their iTunes Library to any mobile device. (See our review of an early beta).
The window, which belongs to BART, the Bay Area’s commuter transit system was leased to doubleTwist by BART’s advertising agency. The advertisement is completely legal, so Apple is going to have a tough time covering this one up. Though the ad has currently been removed for a brief period of time, Lech Johansen promises it will return.
Props to TechCrunch which broke the story and snapped the photos -- full story here.
UPDATE: DVD Jon has posted an update saying that BART decided the ad was "too dark" and has refused to put the ad back up, even after he made the background white, and then later, fully transparent against the BART glass window. Oh, and coincidentally, Apple is a major BART advertiser.
