Where to get your iPhone

Getting an iPhone on launch day (that's tomorrow morning our time) will be tough. But Apple are doing what they can to make the job a little easier by launching an iPhone availability tracker. A green dot means in stock, red means don't bother. I'm seeing red dots in my future, especially since I'm based in Australia and nobody has yet given me a last minute plane ticket over to the States.

Jobs addresses Apple, gives all full time employees iPhones.

In anticipation of the largest product launch Apple have ever done Jobs addresses the team at Apple. In typical Jobs fashion he said that the iPhone will change the mobile space forever and was something they'd talk about for years to come. (A side note: Do you think the CEO of Motorola, Sony Ericsson, or Nokia has ever done this with the release of one of their handsets?)

More info regarding SIM slots

Apparently you can actually change the SIM card in the iPhone, but only use one from AT&T. David Pogue has a good summary and other tidbits.

The Wireless Industry Needs a Clue (Telstra included)

Marty Graham from Wired has penned a great piece on the wireless industry and how, basically they've got no idea about what customers actually want or how to deliver it. I couldn't agree more.

RSS reader for iPhone

Apple has launched an RSS reader for iPhone users. Click here to see it, the only catch is it only works on the iPhone. It's good to see Apple eating its own dogfood and developing apps using web 2.0 techniques that run in Safari as well.

Welcome to Planet Apple

BusinessWeek has a good write up on Apple, where they've been and where they are going.
