Lenovo E20 desktop is green with recycled plastic construction.

Lenovo is certainly most known for its line of ThinkPad notebooks and netbooks. The company also has a full line of desktop workstations and computers and it has unveiled a new workstation today called the ThinkStation E20. The new desktop is aimed at professionals working in the CAD and digital content creation fields and is made from 50% recycled plastic content.

The E20 line starts at under $686 ($US600) and packs in some very impressive gear for the price the machines sell at. Buyers will be able to choose from a variety of Core i3 and i5 processors along with Intel Pentium and Xeon 3400 CPUs. Graphics options for the machine include Intel Core HD or various  NVIDIA Quadro video cards.

The computers in the line support ECC DDR3 RAM and will be highly customizable when ordered. Lenovo claims that the E20 is the leader in using recycled plastic in its class. The desktop is also GREENGUARD certified and meets Energy Star 5.0 certified for low power consumption. The machines will ship starting in February in the US and should head across the pond later.

Lenovos have always been bloody ugly and this is no exception. They must save lots of money by not hiring someone to help with the styling.

Headline is a little misleading guys, normally when you 'drop' something, you cancel. As it stands, when I read "Lenovo drops new ThinkStation E20 desktop", I thought they were canceling a line of machines.

How very little imagination Lenovo has in designing this computer!
The "handle" and the whole unit looks like a case of Stanley Screwdriver Set sold in Hardware stores and some retail outlets like Big W, Target, Kmart, just to mention a few.
And for the configuration options, looks like Lenonovo tries to imitate DELL computer with the offerings for the prospective buyers to choose from, how very clever.
