Apple has announced a global exchange programme for some batteries that were sold in 15 MacBook Pros between February and May this year. Although they do not represent a safety hazard, they do not meet at Apple's high standards for battery performance.

Although they do not represent a safety hazard (no exploding laptops here), they do not meet at Apple's "high standards for battery performance".

Affected units carry the part number A1175 and a 12-digit serial number that ends with U7SA, U7SB or U7SC.

If your battery is one of the faulty ones, all you need to do is enter your details and the details of your MacBook Pro on Apple's Support Site and the company will ship you a free replacement.
