U.S. Site Gizmodo has seem some sparkly pics of Microsoft's attempt to break into the tablet market - a market next in line to be Apple's next big plaything.
Pity the company that tries to do anything in secret these days. Even Apple's notorious fortress is proving leakier by the keynote. Microsoft, for once, has done pretty well keeping its new gadget under wraps. Having everyone staring at the Windows 7 bandwagon has helped, but now the news is out.
Microsoft seems to aiming straight at the executive marketGizmodo has
pictures, video and details of Courier, a dual tablet screen that looks, at first glance like a 21st Century Filofax and media viewer. Using a stylus and multi-touch, users can work, write and manipulate media. It certainly has the hallmarks of an executive gadget rather than an everyman-home-device.
However, as its still at the prototype stage- who knows what the final market will be. There are a lot of neat tricks in the Courier device with a camera in the outer casing, the potential for wireless charging and the spine of the book is used to store and move items between pages. It also makes you wonder if Microsoft is taking to the likes of News Corp about a micro-payment digital newspaper for all those busy executives.
