Thin and light new notebook has good specs and external optical drive.

It's only been a few weeks since MSI unveiled its new X430 notebook and it is already adding a new addition to the X-Slim family. The new machine is called the X350 and is sized firmly in the ultraportable category. The machine has a 13.4-inch screen and a resolution of 1366 x 768. To match that HD capable screen the machine uses Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics.

The machine measures in at 330 x 224 x 24 to 26 mm and weighs 1.5kg making it very portable. The machine sports and Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and has 2GB of RAM inside the compact chassis. Storage options will include a 350GB or a 500GB HDD.

Connectivity options for the machine include HDMI out, VGA, two USB ports, RJ45 connector, and a memory card reader. To preserve the thin profile of the machine it ships with an external DVD burner and there is an option for Blu-ray as well. The OS is Windows 7 Home Premium and power comes from four-cell battery.
