MSI gives up the goods on new X-Slim X360

New thin ultraportable packs a Core i5 punch.


Late last month MSI teased us with a few scant specs for its big screen GT660 gaming notebook. The computer maker is back today with full details on a new addition to the X-Slim line called the X360. The ultraportable weighs 1.4kg and is only 22.5mm thick at its thickest point.



The machine has a 13-inch 1366 x 768 resolution LCD and graphics by Intel HD integrated. The chipset inside the machine is the Intel HM55 supporting an Intel Core i5-520UM processor. The X360 supports up to 4GB of RAM and uses Windows 7 Home Premium for the OS.

Storage is to a HDD up to 500GB in capacity and the machine has a memory card reader, HDMI out, D-sub, and a pair of USB 2.0 ports. Other features include 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, and a claimed 9-hour battery life from the 8-cell optional battery. The standard battery is a 4-cell unit. Pricing and a ship date are unknown at this time.
