Hands on with the Nokia Booklet 3G at Nokia World

Tech journos have finally got hands-on with the Nokia Booklet 3G netbook.

We already know all the details on the Nokia netbook known as the Booklet 3G. SlashGear is at Nokia World and got hands on with the Booklet 3G and offered up a slew of pictures and some impressions of the system in action.

SlashGear notes that the model it fondled was a pre-production unit so some of the quirks that were noticed may go away in the final production devices. Among those quirks was an occasional sluggish response with Windows 7. The little rig runs the Atom Z530 CPU and has a large trackpad and keyboard. The keyboard is described is one of the more impressive ones seen on a netbook.

A couple points noted about the machine included how quiet the machine was and how much of the chassis the large 3840mAh battery took up. I am skeptical on the battery life; Nokia claims 12 hours and I will believe that when I see it. I would bet a good eight hours at most with normal use, but I could be wrong. The device will sell for €575 ($AUD983) before any subsidies from wireless carriers -- certainly at the top end of pricing for a netbook, but still decently priced considering the capability stuffed inside the attractive aluminium chassis.

I liked the look of it at the start of the article... But then got to the price. For what is really a netbook, it's a bit expensive.

"Quiet" Hmmmmmmm I don't know why it should be noisy :) Isn't it an electronic device with few actual moving parts unless the hard drive sounds like AC/DC warming up :)
Hiya "Tin" How's it going :)I won't be here for a couple of weeks starting tomorrow as me and a mate are going fishing on "The Murray River" and there won't be a PC in site :)
