For just $249 the Acer AOD255E-12DQKK is a low spec but ultimately well-priced netbook that is worth considering if you’re on a very tight budget.

The Intel Atom N450 (1.66GHz) processor is sufficient for simpler productivity applications, and along with 1GB of RAM you’ll be getting a reasonable experience out of Windows 7 Starter.

As with most netbooks the storage is a 250GB hard disk drive, which while small should be okay if you exercise some discipline with file storage. Another feature common in netbooks is the 10.1in (1,024x600 resolution) screen. It may be small, but the end result is an overall weight of 1.25kg and thickness of 24mm.

In all, cheap, cheap computer that will still let you do stuff such as web surfing, email and running basic productivity apps.
