The 15.6in Acer Aspire AS5750-2314G64Mnkk is a bit underwhelming at $799, largely because it uses an Intel Core i3 when most alternatives around that price use an Intel Core i7. That being said, it does have a 640GB hard disk drive and 4GB of RAM so it’s not all bad.

The 2nd Gen Intel Core i3-2310M (2.1GHz) processor can handle productivity applications well, and it’ll also be fine with some more demanding programs. Also possible is some light gaming, thanks largely to the integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics.

The portability of the AS5750 is a bit below average on account of it weighing 2.6kg. Most basic notebooks are slightly lighter, but with a decent backpack this basic notebook can still be carried around easily enough.
