For $385 the Acer AO522-C5DKK is an outstanding netbook that is very affordable for what it contains. The first standout features is the 1,280x720 10.1in resolution screen. Netbooks normally only have fairly low-res screens (eg, 1024x600), so it’s a welcome improvement.
The second standout feature is AMD Fusion processor, which makes this netbook much more versatile than Atom-based equivalents. .The specific AMD Fusion processor in the AOD522 is the C-50 (1GHz), which will be fine for most productivity applications. The cool bit is the integrated AMD Radeon HD 6250. It won’t be good for gaming, but it handles tasks like streaming HD movies exceedingly well. There is only 1GB of RAM though, so multi-tasking performance won't be too great.
The 250GB of hard disk drive storage is respectable by netbook standards, but if you have lots of videos you may still feel the need for an external USB hard disk drive. Portability is high, of course, this being a netbook. The OD522 weighs 1.25kg and measures 25.7mm thick.
