The Acer AOD255E-N55DQKK is one of the best value netbooks we’ve seen all year, because it has an Intel Atom N550 processor while costing below $300. Normally at that price the best you’d find is older netbooks with Intel Atom N450s or N455s.
An Intel Atom N550 (1.5GHz) is a dual-core processor that along with 1GB of RAM can run simpler productivity applications. Storage is kind of small, but by netbook standards the 250GB hard disk drive is about as large as you’d typically get so no complaints there.
It’s a really portable product as well, weighing in at just 1.2kg. The AOD255E is also slender, measuring 24mm thick, 185mm deep and 258.5mm wide. The small size does mean a small 10.1in (1,024x600 resolution) screen, but it’ll still be enough for using productivity applications.
