The Acer As5551G-934G50Mn allrounder notebook is a great bargain for $898, and an even better one if you use your cashback with Acer to bring the price down to $799. It has an AMD Phenom II X4 N930 (2GHz) that is almost as fast as low-end Intel Core i3s, making it a great processor for the price. Amazingly it has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics card, which along with 4GB of RAM can run modern games like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on high settings.
The specs continue to impress with a 500GB hard drive that provides plenty of storage, and a typical but still welcome 15.6in (1,366x768 resolution) screen that ensures good visual quality. It weighs 2.6kg, and measures 34mm thick, 253mm deep, and 381mm wide.
There’s plenty to recommend with this allrounder notebook, as it has a graphics card that doesn’t normally appear until at least the $1,000 mark. For the price this is very good value for money.
