The 15.6in Acer Aspire AS5750G-2414G75Bnkk for $828 is a mid-range allrounder with brilliant specs. A fast Intel Core i5 processor and strong dedicated graphics card alone would make this notebook good value, but it also has a huge 750GB hard disk drive and a Blu-ray player.
An Intel Core i5-2410M (2.3GHz) is a fast mid-range processor that has two cores, and thanks to Hyper-Threading Technology each of them can handle two tasks at once. Together with 4GB of RAM it’s clear that the AS5750G will have good overall system performance. A welcome feature at this price point is the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M, which can easily play new games like Call of Duty: Black Ops at high settings.
Although the 15.6in (1,366x768 resolution) screen isn’t full HD, a handy HDMI port makes it easy to plug the AS5750G into an external full HD screen. The AS5750G is easy enough to carry around on account of it weighing 2.6kg and being 33.2mm thick.
