For just $799, the Acer Aspire AS5741G-334G50MN notebook is a genuine bargain. The processor here is an Intel Core i3 330M, a great processor despite being the entry level Intel Core i3 processor; they’re all better than Intel Core 2 Duos, which were very fast themselves. It also has a low end NVIDIA graphics card, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 310M. This will let you run games like Modern Warfare 2 on low settings, along with some low level video editing and normal general computing. It has good overall specs, including 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and a 15.6in (1366x768) screen.
The only downside here is that it’s a fairly hefty notebook, weighing 2.6kg and measuring 381x253x34mm. Otherwise you’re getting a great allrounder notebook at a great price.
