The deal: Acer Aspire One Happy 2 - colourful and affordable netbook that's nicely built - $299.00
The 10.1in Acer Aspire One Happy 2 is really good value for $299, because despite the low price it has similar specs to more expensive alternatives. It’s also really pleasant looking, the bright colours a welcome change from the drab blacks and greys that dominate the notebook market. The keyboard is also nice to use, and in general terms the plastic casing feels quite solid.
Processor
The Happy 2 has an Intel Atom N570 (1.66GHz) processor, which is one of the better low-end netbook processors. It will handle simpler productivity applications smoothly.
Graphics
Oboard graphics are sufficient for simpler productivity applications and very casual gaming.
RAM
There's only 1GB of RAM, which is enough to run a single basic program smoothly but you wouldn't want to multi-task lots of applications with this much memory.
Storage
The Happy 2 has a 250GB hard disk drive, which while small should still be sufficient for programs, important documents and other files.
Screen
It has a 10.1in (1,024x600 resolution) gloss screen.
Portability
The Happy 2 has exceptional portability, because it weighs 1.3kg and is 24mm thick. It’s more than light enough to be taken anywhere without any problems whatsoever.
