For $1,499 the 13.3in Acer Aspire S3-951-2464G25nss is well-priced given the strong set of specs, with the most impressive being the 256GB solid state drive. This is twice as large as what's normal for the price, which is a good deal in our books. There's also a low-voltage 2nd Gen Intel Core i5 and 4GB of RAM, making this version of the Aspire S3 quite powerful for an Ultrabook weighing only 1.4kg. The all-metal exterior is also really pleasant to the touch, although the main body does get slightly warm during extended usage. One other important note is the port variety on the Aspire S3, because with two USB 2.0 ports and a HDMI port it's got better variety than some sleeker looking alternatives like the ASUS Zenbooks.

Processor
The Aspire S3 has a 2nd Gen Intel Core i5-2467M (1.6GHz), a mid-range low-voltage processor that can run productivity applications and some intensive software. It can burst up to 2.3GHz using Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology if a particularly demanding program is running.

Graphics
The Aspire S3 has an integrated graphics solution called Intel HD Graphics 3000. It’s on par with a low-end dedicated graphics card, and is sufficient for modern games at the lowest settings.

RAM
The Aspire S3 has 4GB of RAM, which is enough to run several programs at once smoothly. It’s more than enough to ensure fluid overall system performance with Windows 7 Home Premium.

Storage
The Aspire S3 has has a 256GB solid state drive, which is large enough for important files along with some media content. It does have very rapid response though for both reading and writing data.

Screen
The Aspire S3 has a 13.3in (1,366 x 768 resolution) gloss screen. The viewing angles and colour vibrancy are about average.

Portability
The Aspire S3 has exceptional portability, because it weighs 1.4kg and is 17.5mm thick. It’s more than light enough to be taken anywhere without any problems whatsoever.
