The lengthily named 13.3in Acer Aspire TimelineX AS3830TG-2414G12nbb has had its price slashed down to $858, making it a very attractive special. It weighs only 1.85kg and is 29.3mm thick, which seems about normal for an ultraportable until the other specs are taken into consideration. It has an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M, a dedicated graphics card that’s normally only seen in high-range allrounders. The AS3830TG features a 2nd Gen Intel Core i5-2410M (2.3GHz), a mid-range processor that can run productivity applications and most intensive software. It can burst up to 2.9GHz using Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology if a particularly demanding program is running.

Graphics
It comes with a dedicated graphics card called the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M. It’s one of the better mid-range offerings from NVIDIA, and it will be able to handle most modern games at medium to high settings.

RAM
4GB of RAM is enough to run several programs at once smoothly. This will be sufficient for moderately intensive image and video editing tasks as well.

Storage
A120GB solid state drive is very small, but it does have very rapid response for both reading and writing data.

Screen
The AS3830TG sports a 13.3in (1,366 x 768 resolution) gloss screen. The gloss screen should have better colour richness when compared to a matte screen, but the reflectiveness will make it a bit difficult to use in direct sunlight.
